Electude: platform for Innovative Study modules and Training courses

Electude, headquartered in Nuenen, near Eindhoven’s tech hub in the Netherlands, has been at the forefront of automotive education since its inception in 1990. Founded by two visionary university students, John Vlaar and Koen Berends, the company was born out of a desire to revolutionise technical education. Recognising that traditional teaching methods were not effectively engaging hands-on learners, they pioneered a discovery-based learning approach, integrating gaming technology to create interactive and immersive educational experiences.

Over the past three decades, Electude has expanded its reach globally, now serving more than 1 million students and 60,000+ teachers across 4,000+ schools in over 70 countries. The company’s commitment to innovation is evident in its comprehensive learning and teaching solutions, which encompass topics on light vehicles, heavy vehicles, and electric vehicles.

A cornerstone of Electude’s mission is its active participation in international projects that drive the evolution of automotive education. One such significant initiative is the AutoCoVE 2.0 project, a collaborative effort aimed at addressing the skills gap in the automotive sector, particularly concerning sustainability and the green transition. This project brings together vocational education and training (VET) schools, higher education institutions, and industry partners from countries with a rich automotive heritage.

Within the AutoCoVE 2.0 framework, Electude plays a pivotal role by providing its state-of-the-art e-learning platform to all partner VET institutions. The platform offers access to nearly 2,000 technical modules, facilitating the development of innovative study materials and training courses focused on modern vehicle technologies, including electric and hydrogen-powered systems. By integrating these resources, Electude ensures that both educators and students are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

Electude’s involvement in AutoCoVE 2.0 underscores its dedication to fostering a sustainable future for the automotive industry. By bridging the gap between traditional automotive practices and emerging green technologies, Electude not only enhances the competencies of current and future professionals but also contributes to the broader goal of combating climate change through education. This commitment aligns seamlessly with the project’s objectives, which emphasise the development of a skilled workforce supporting the green transition within the automotive sector.

In summary, Electude’s rich history of innovation, extensive global reach, and proactive engagement in transformative projects like AutoCoVE 2.0 highlight its integral role in shaping the future of automotive education. Through its cutting-edge solutions and collaborative efforts, Electude continues to empower educators and learners worldwide, driving progress toward a more sustainable and technologically advanced automotive industry.
