In September 2025, the AutoCoVE 2.0 project held its 5th Transnational Meeting in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. Hosted by Koning Willem I College (KW1C), a key Dutch partner in the consortium, the event brought together representatives from across Europe to advance collaborative work on greening vehicle education and clean-tech innovation.
Strengthening Cooperation Across Europe
Partners from Finland, Estonia, Turkey, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, France, and the Netherlands gathered to share updates on work package progress, exchange ideas, and coordinate next steps for the project’s mid-term implementation. The meeting opened with a warm welcome from Bart Jan Geers, Head of Department at KW1C, followed by introductory remarks from Tessa van Zeeland and Toon Bertens, who outlined the agenda and meeting objectives.
Day 1: Project Progress and Partner Engagement
The first day focused on reviewing ongoing work packages. Heljä Valkama and Elina Kollanus presented the WP1 mid-term report, followed by updates on WP2 from Merja Penttinen and Michael Seefried, and WP3 from Ismail Mirzojev. Participants explored translation opportunities with Electude, led by Jeroen Smetsers, and discussed strategies for implementing teacher courses under WP4, presented by Aida Gruzinskiene.
In the afternoon, participants visited Electude’s facilities for breakout sessions and discussions on e-learning innovation in automotive education. The day concluded with an official dinner at Bolwerk, offering a relaxed opportunity for networking and cultural exchange.
Day 2: Mobility, Collaboration, and Learning in Action
The second day centered on student mobility, with presentations highlighting mobility experiences hosted by Eesti Maulikool, Lietuvos Inžinerijos Kolegija (LIK), and THWS in collaboration with Preh. Further sessions covered progress on WP6 and WP7, led by Pelin Ünlü and Kristine Stiķe, respectively.
After the working sessions, participants enjoyed a guided tour of KW1C’s Mobility and Logistics department, providing insights into the college’s innovative training environment. The meeting closed with a cultural activity—a scenic boat tour through the historic canals of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
The consortium extends its sincere thanks to the hosts at Koning Willem I College, especially Tessa van Zeeland and Toon Bertens, for their excellent organization and warm hospitality throughout the meeting. Their efforts created an inspiring environment for meaningful discussions and collaboration.
The two-day meeting reinforced the consortium’s shared commitment to advancing clean-tech and green mobility education across Europe. Through continued collaboration, Auto CoVE 2.0 aims to strengthen vocational excellence and equip future professionals with the skills needed for a sustainable transport future.
