The Technology Transfer Centre for Electromobility (TTZ-EMO) at the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (THWS) is proud to have conducted a pioneering skills gap analysis in the automobile trade together with the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
In our study, we analysed the current skills of teachers, professors, vehicle and spare parts salespeople and vehicle maintenance staff in potentially important future subject areas. In doing so, we not only determined the current skills, but also obtained the respondents’ assessments of the future importance of these skills in the next 5 years.
Our survey went beyond the spectrum of subject-specific knowledge and also asked about general competences such as language skills, computer skills, teamwork and much more.
The results of this analysis are invaluable as they form the basis for the user-centred creation of learning content and training. It is crucial that we ensure that employees in the automotive industry have the right skills to meet the challenges and changes of the future.
The TTZ-EMO and its partners are proud to contribute to the further development and strengthening of the automobile trade. Together, we are working to identify and close the skills gaps in order to ensure a sustainable and successful future for the industry.
