Advancing Sustainable Mobility Through Education and Innovation

From 13–15 May 2026, representatives of Lietuvos Inžinerijos Kolegija (LIK), a higher education partner in the AutoCoVE 2.0 project, participated in the international conference “Education, Innovation and Cooperation for the Future of Regions” hosted by Malnava College in Latvia.

The conference brought together around one hundred participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Türkiye, creating a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, and discussing current developments in education, innovation, and regional cooperation.

During the event, LIK representatives actively contributed to the programme through presentations highlighting both educational innovation and sustainable mobility. Marius Mažeika and Judita Streimikienė delivered the presentation “Learning Together for Greening Europe – Innovations in Education”, introducing the Auto CoVE 2.0 project and its mission to strengthen the connection between education, technological innovation, and labour market needs. Their presentation emphasized the project’s efforts to develop modern educational content focused on sustainable mobility, electric and hybrid vehicle technologies, and the skills required for the green transition.

In addition, Martynas Skulskis presented his research entitled “Assessment of the Impact of Temperature on the Charging Speed of Electric Vehicle Batteries”. The presentation explored how different climate conditions influence battery charging performance and highlighted the importance of research-based knowledge in supporting the future development of electric mobility.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to showcase how international cooperation can contribute to addressing the challenges of Europe’s green transition. Through collaboration between vocational education and training institutions, higher education providers, industry partners, and researchers, AutoCoVE 2.0 continues to support the development of future-ready skills and innovative learning approaches.

By combining technological innovation, sustainability-oriented education, digital learning solutions, and strong international partnerships, AutoCoVE 2.0 represents an important step toward the modernization of automotive education in Europe. The project highlights the vital role of education in preparing learners and professionals for the future of mobility while supporting Europe’s transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable, and technologically advanced transport ecosystem.
