One of the primary technical goals for Kaunas Education Center of Technologies (Kautech) of the Auto Cove 2.0 project has been accomplished with the acquisition of a VW ID-3 electric car, funded by the European Union. Additionally, all necessary equipment for the subsequent phases of the project has been procured.
According to the Director of Kaunas Education Centre of Technologies Paulius Cepas, this is a strong step forward in the field of training of vehicle specialists. Everyone is well aware that, in terms of environmental and resource efficiency, internal combustion engine vehicles are a relic of the past. It is only a matter of time before they are seen in museums – on our roads they will disappear by themselves.
Of course, this transition is not possible without specialists in the field. Professionals are needed to ensure the switch from one type of car to another is as smooth as possible. The activities of the Auto Cove 2.0 project and the tools purchased for its implementation will allow for the training of highly qualified professionals, the development of teachers in the field, and contribute to the European Union’s common goal of making our environment greener and more sustainable.
The importance and significance of this project were also emphasized by Kaunas Education Center of Technologies Project Manager, Aida Gruzinskiene. She particularly highlighted the contribution of the Auto Cove 2.0 project activities to the development of professional competencies and future perspectives. Although numerous projects have been implemented, this one is among the most honorable and important. She noted that the project’s significance lies in its promotion of a shift to cleaner vehicles on an international level, while simultaneously raising awareness of environmental sustainability.
The Kaunas Education Center of Technologies team working on this project is delighted with the success of the first phase. They say it required teamwork, quick decisions, and a test of competencies—but the results speak for themselves. Now, further activities are on the way, which will serve as a basis for training the professionals of the future and building a green Europe.
