The first edition of Auto Skills Europe, organized by ANFA (National Association for Automotive Training) in Paris and Boulogne, marked a significant milestone: it was the very first event entirely dedicated to the mobility of vocational education and training (VET) learners in the automotive sector.
ANFA is responsible for implementing its national training policy, as defined by the National Joint Commission for Automotive Services. In a sector that is constantly evolving and needing to respond to industry demands — starting with training for apprentices and high school students — ANFA develops and updates training tools, supports training providers, and promotes education for automotive services.
On the first day of the event, attendees learned about the rich history of French car makers Renault and Citroën, and the evolution of the French automotive industry during a boat tour along the River Seine, where all partners were warmly hosted.
The second day was filled with high-caliber contributions from Jean ARTHUIS (Former Minister of Finance and President of Euro App Mobility), Guillaume FAURIE (ANFA’s General Delegate), Nelly FESSEAU (Director of the Erasmus+ France Agency), and many other round-table sessions, testimonies, and insightful exchanges — adding depth and real-world significance to our shared ambitions.
It was also a great opportunity for our project. Pelin ÜNLÜ, European and International Project Manager at SEPR in Lyon, France, was invited by ANFA to present Auto Cove 2.0 to both national and European stakeholders. This rich moment provided a platform for sharing the skills gap analysis prepared at the end of the first year of the project. In addition, the Electude platform — which will include all the technical, innovative, and transnational study modules and training courses for secondary and tertiary education — was demonstrated to stakeholders.
Thanks to ANFA, this event was a key moment, opening up new perspectives for the future of mobility training in vocational education, both in France and across Europe.
