In the heart of Lyon, the picturesque city known for its history and innovation, partners from across Europe gathered for the 4th Transnational Meeting of the Auto-CoVE 2.0 project, under the Erasmus+ Programme’s Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) initiative. Hosted by Societé D’Enseignement Professionelle du Rhône (SEPR), the two-day Steering Committee Meeting brought together leading education and technology institutions working to green Europe through clean-tech vehicle education.
A Collaborative Effort Across Borders
With representatives from Finland, Estonia, Turkey, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Latvia, and France, the event showcased the rich collaboration behind the project. Participants included vocational schools, universities, research centers, and tech companies — all aligned with the vision of a cleaner, tech-savvy future for the automotive industry.
The project coordinator, Omnia – The Joint Authority of Education in Espoo Region (FI), opened the meeting with updates on project management, followed by presentations from key work package leaders including VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Tartu Vocational College, and Kaunas Educational Center of Technologies.

Insightful Project Updates: Attendees explored the progress of various work packages, including module development, research, and training strategies. Tools like the Electude platform and insights from ANFA (National Association for Automotive Training) added depth to the discussions.

Industry Integration: A major highlight was the virtual presentation by Symbio, a leader in hydrogen fuel cell systems, and site visits to Groupe Chopard and Renault Trucks, emphasizing the industry relevance of Auto-CoVE’s mission.

Real Voices, Real Impact: Participants of internship in Bilia Oy shared testimonials, giving life to the educational outcomes the project is driving.

Looking Forward: Quality management and dissemination strategies were reviewed, ensuring the long-term sustainability and impact of the initiative.
The meeting concluded with a tour of SEPR’s campus, offering a tangible sense of the local educational landscape and its contribution to the broader European vision.
Auto-CoVE 2.0 continues to inspire and lead the transformation of vocational education with sustainability at its core. As the project advances, meetings like these reaffirm the commitment of European partners to shape a greener automotive industry — one student, module, and collaboration at a time.
