This time, we are proud to highlight a unique and exciting student mobility experience. Omnia’s motorsport students, Miko Vähälummukka and Janter Eha, have completed their internship in Kaunas, Lithuania, where they joined the LIK Polytechnic’s racing team. During their stay, they also had the opportunity to travel with the team to Poland and participate in a racing competition as active members of the servicing crew.
Throughout their internship, Miko and Janter worked on various racing vehicles, including those used for circuit racing, karting, and drift competitions. Each type of vehicle required specialized knowledge, technical skills, and the use of professional tools and equipment.
Their main responsibilities included vehicle inspection, maintenance, and cleaning, as well as chassis adjustments to optimize driving performance. They also performed tyre work, brake part replacements, and brake balance adjustments on competition cars.
One of the highlights of their learning experience was working with go-karts—something entirely new for both students. They learned to analyze the structure, operation, and maintenance principles of these vehicles, expanding their expertise across different forms of motorsport engineering.
Both students stood out for their excellent adherence to work safety and environmental protection standards. They also developed strong teamwork skills, becoming valuable and trusted members of the LIK racing team. Through hands-on experience, they enhanced their technical abilities in vehicle inspection, component removal and installation, frame straightening, dent repair, and other bodywork tasks, all while following professional service and safety protocols.

This internship provided Miko and Janter with a fast-paced, real-world learning environment that deepened their technical expertise and expanded their professional horizons in the field of motorsport engineering.
