Higher education institution from Lithuania Lietuvos Inzinerijos Kolegija (LIK), previously Kauno Technico Kolegija (KTK), has purchased an electric vehicle battery charger/discharger MaxiEV CDT100, designed to improve battery performance and capacity through precise and efficient charging and discharging cycles.
This advanced device is essential for maintaining and optimizing the health and longevity of high-voltage batteries, and it will be used for the research activities analysing the HV battery performance in cold climate zone. The recharger will be used to safely discharge batteries according to DOT vehicle requirements (air: 20%; land/sea: 40%), as some tests will be performed in different locations; to safely charge and discharge the vehicle directly before, after or during vehicle repair analysing different operations of EV maintenance and repair; to prevent fire hazards when discharging batteries. The team of teachers and students will test the HV battery’s performance in harsh climatic conditions and fire prevention when the HV battery is over-charged.
